In Birmingham city center 18% of properties are SSTC marked, and in Liverpool city center 22% are SSTC marked.
Across Britain, nearly two in three properties are currently SSTC, and available inventory is down 26% around the same time last year, although this compares to the housing market shutdown in April. 2020.
New properties for sale improved greatly in March and were 51% higher than in February, but demand still exceeds supply in a number of areas.
The study is based on just under 300,000 properties listed since the start of 2021.
Tim Bannister, Director of Real Estate Data at Rightmove, said: “The North and South West areas are currently the most popular markets for sellers, and Cornwall and Devon locations continue the trend of desire to sell. set up by the sea and in the countryside. .
“The suburbs are also doing well as some people move away from the city center. Properties for sale and for rent in downtown areas have suffered over the past year as the usual appeal to live there has been temporarily removed, resulting in more stock availability than usual, but we could see these will start to change faster over the next few months as lockdown restrictions continue to be removed.
“In a traditional year, there would be a few record days for visits or inquiries sent by home hunters, but the pace of the current market caused by a combination of easing restrictions, a desire for more space and people considering different locations, has led to record breaking week after week.
“Last Wednesday set a record of over 9.3 million visits to Rightmove, and March saw the time spent on the site exceed two billion minutes in a month for the first time.”
